Position Summary (The Gig):

A community/regional bank in growth mode is looking for a Senior Commercial Loan Officer to join their high-performing La Jolla team. This bank is focused on relationships, solutions, and trust. Leadership is committed to removing red tape and bureaucracy to allow RMs to deliver client results that other banks just can’t keep up with. Some of the ways they do this is by offering same-day or next-day credit decisions and having an experienced support staff to keep RMs out of the day-to-day operations noise and loan processing to allow them time to focus on big-picture results. The support staff is experienced and committed to excellence.

The Pay:

Pay is negotiable depending on a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, production, credit & underwriting knowledge, skills and experience, education, and overall polish.

  • Salary range is $120k to $160k base plus aggressive incentives based on production. It is not discretionary, so you know what you have to do to make the money you want.
  • A good producer should be able to make incentives equal to or greater than their base salary.
  • This bank focuses on quick loan approvals, and it allows bankers to produce more than they are used to because they are in and out of a loan in half the time, resulting in more production and more pay.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Developing commercial loan business including CRE (both OO and Investor), Construction, C&I, and private loans and lines.
  • Must be comfortable self-sourcing business without a lot of internal referrals.
  • Working with loans around $5mm – $20mm+ in size.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients and continuously be networking and developing relationships inside your portfolio and in the community.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must have credit and underwriting skills.
  • Must be from La Jolla, CA or reside within a reasonable distance of La Jolla.
