Accounting Manager – 1790351


The Accounting Manager is a multi-tasking accounting position, with responsibility for all aspects of accounting, budgeting and payroll systems for our Market and Cannabis division. The Accounting Manager will prepare financial reports to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. The ideal candidate will have proven industry experience in accounting, preferably in a senior role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:

· Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements

· Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs and organizational budgets and actual expenditures

· Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on a monthly, and annual basis

· Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow

· Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity

· Develop general knowledge in all areas of the Accounting Department

· Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audits

· Files required tax forms with federal, state, local and Tribal government agencies

· As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software

· Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

· All applicants must be at least 18 years of age

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required

· Minimum three years accounting experience required

· Previous experience working in Tribal government is a plus

· CPA strongly preferred


· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Office, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook

· Proficient with 10-Key

· Working knowledge of GAAP

· Highly proficient with accounting software, Microix and MIP Fund accounting experience is a plus

· Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting

· High attention to detail and accuracy

· Excellent organizational skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to work well and assist other teammates

· Ability to sit or stand for a prolonged period of time

· Regularly required to lift and / or move items up to 30 pounds

· Must pass extensive criminal background check and oral drug screening
