Title: Loan Operations Manager

Reports to: Chief Credit Officer

Location: Chico or Redding – this role can be hybrid for the right person to commute a couple times a week, but the preference is someone who lives in either Chico or Redding.

Compensation: Base pay is flexible and negotiable and dependent on experience and fit: Salary range is approximately $125k – $175k+.

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the smooth daily operation and maintenance of a centralized loan operations unit. The department is responsible for knowledgeably preparing and generating loan documents for complex commercial real estate, C&I, consumer loans, and residential loans. Other department responsibilities include loan boarding, collateral perfection, research and maintenance of loan files, loan financial reporting, loan accounting, record keeping, post-loan closing, maintenance, servicing, handling billing issues, missed payments, re-applied payments, necessary adjustments, etc.


  • Independently handle tasks and manage the team while also being willing to get into the weeds with the team and be a working manager when needed.
  • Should possess strong operational and management skills, with the ability to step in and perform tasks personally when necessary as well as lead the team.
  • Requires a candidate who understands the entire workflow, can dive into details, and operate without ego.
  • Someone with experience in SBA lending is a plus.
  • Familiarity with core systems and collateral processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with external partners.
  • Hands-on experience with loan documentation and servicing.


  • Supervise the preparation of loan documentation, including all appropriate collateral perfection, within bank policy and guidelines. Other supervisory duties may be considered or required.
  • Ensure all Loan Accounting, Loan Reporting, Regulatory reporting such as HMDA, CRA, various internal reports, and Loan processing systems are current and operating within bank policy and guidelines.
  • Research complex issues to provide guidance for all personnel regarding collateral perfection and lending compliance.
  • Ensure loan files are maintained and complete according to bank policy and examiner guidelines.
  • Provide examiners with all requested information pertaining to the loan operations unit.
  • Participate with senior officers to ensure external and regulatory examination deficiencies are kept to a minimum and those that are noted are corrected in a timely manner.
  • Supervise workflow to maintain timely and accurate responsiveness to documentation requests.


  • Bank operational experience required.
  • Knowledge of loan documentation and accounting required.
  • Experience with standard MS software required, with Laser Pro (or comparable system) experience required.
  • Lending, title, or previous credit support experience required.
  • Analytical, problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • The ability to prioritize and complete tasks within established time frames.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain cordial and professional relationships with customers and co-workers.
  • The ability to be resourceful, and to research issues of loan documentation, compliance, and legal issues as they relate to loan documentation and maintenance.
