Senior Agriculture/Commercial Banker – 2010992

The Gig:

One of our bank clients is looking for an Agriculture/Commercial Relationship Manager in Eastern South Dakota who has the ability and experience to take over a sizeable existing book of business that is 95% agribusiness.

  • This bank is stable and in growth mode despite the fact that a lot of banks are laying people off and/or not lending.
  • This bank is dedicated to Agribusiness and has been doing ag lending for decades with decades of knowledge and experience on the team.
  • This person will take over a solid portfolio, majority agribusiness, so they won’t have to start from the ground up.
  • The leader of this team has created a collaborative culture of seasoned bankers who are high performing, passionate, and have a lot of fun working together. They are constantly bouncing ideas off of each other and figuring out how to get deals done.
  • This team has long-term clients who have been with them for decades. They work hard to make sure there is an open line of communication with each client so they stay well-informed, know they are a valued part of the process, feel comfortable asking questions, bringing concerns, etc.

Responsibilities: (a formal job description will be provided later in the process)

  • Maintain relationships within an existing portfolio of clients to increase reoccurring production and originate new loans.
  • Work to bring in solid loans including ag, owner-occupied commercial real estate, C&I, etc.
  • Maintain client database, client and customer calling/monitoring efforts, marketing, and referrals.
  • Facilitate loan approvals and expedite production by communicating commercial lending policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Marketing, or relevant discipline – preferred.
  • Ideally 10-15+ years of ag banking experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Ability to articulate credit quality and evaluate a good deal from a bad one without a ton of supervision.
  • Exceptional networking and relationship-building skills.

The Pay:

Our client offers a competitive total compensation package including base salary as well as short and long term incentives.
