11Senior Commercial Relationship Manager
Title: Senior Commercial Relationship Manager
Position Overview/Highlights:
One of our most stable and reputable bank clients is looking for a Senior Commercial Banking Relationship Manager to join their high performing and growing team in Orange County. They truly value autonomy, flexibility, collaboration, creativity and speed when getting deals done, work life balance, and continual growth and advancement for their Commercial Relationship Managers. They have a proven history of promoting from within, so if advancement is important to you, this could be worth talking about. The hiring manager personally invests in developing his people and many of his past team members have been promoted to run their own offices or take on executive roles within the bank.
They have the opposite of a beaurcratic culture and encourage their RM’s to take ownership of their business and treat them like partners. Their executive leadership and credit administrators come out from behind the curtain to have open and collaborative conversations about credit decisions and direction of the bank, rather than dictating without back-and-forth.
Ideal Candidate:
- This person MUST have experience working with operating companies and lending in the following areas: C&I, working capital lines of credit, equipment finance, owner-occupied commercial real estate, etc. Someone focusing predominantly on real estate would not be a good fit.
- Experience working at a community or regional bank and being comfortable self-sourcing business rather than depending on internal referrals is paramount, so this person must have strong networking skills and the ability to cultivate their own relationships.
- This person must be comfortable dealing with complex financial structures and credit facilities and be proficient at spreading financials, understanding balance sheets, P&L, receivables, payables, cash flow, leverage, and articulating why a deal makes sense from a financial perspective.
- This person should have integrity and charisma and be able to easily build rapport and trust with clients, leaving a lasting impression.
- Someone with a stable work history who has not moved banks every few years.
