Clinical Nurse Specialist; CVICU Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and Monitor Care Standards: Recommend changes in clinical practice to improve patient care.
  • Collaborate with Nursing Staff: Assess patient and family age-specific nursing needs, developing care plans for complex high-risk patients.
  • Evaluate Care Effectiveness: Continuously assess and improve the quality of care provided.
  • Design and Implement Teaching Programs: Create educational programs for patients, families, and nursing staff.
  • Develop Interdisciplinary Care Plans: Work with healthcare teams to create comprehensive care plans for high-risk patients.
  • Assess and Address Staff Education Needs: Identify and fulfill competency-based education requirements for staff.
  • Introduce New Techniques: Implement innovative practices based on advanced trends in nursing.
  • Provide Consultation: Offer expert advice to healthcare providers in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Define Best Practices: Establish and implement best nursing practices.
  • Participate in QA&I Monitoring: Set standards and evaluate outcomes to ensure quality assurance and improvement.
  • Manage Clinical Operations: Use hospital patient portal to oversee and enhance clinical operations and discharge planning.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in the area of clinical specialty required (CVICU) Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit
  • Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in a clinical field of nursing or a related field.
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist Certificate (California) required at hire.
  • Registered Nurse License (California) required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical Nurse Specialist experience preferred.
  • ACLS or PALS Certification preferred.
