Nurse Manager, Emergency Department
Job Summary: The Nurse Manager of the Emergency Department is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, and managing the nursing staff. This role requires strong leadership, clinical expertise, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management:
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and support staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient department operations.
- Collaborate with other department managers and hospital leadership to achieve organizational goals.
- Clinical Oversight:
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care in accordance with established standards and protocols.
- Monitor patient flow and manage staffing levels to meet patient needs.
- Address and resolve patient and family concerns promptly and professionally.
- Participate in clinical rounds and provide guidance on complex cases.
- Quality Improvement:
- Lead initiatives to improve patient outcomes and department performance.
- Analyze data and metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement evidence-based practices and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate staff education and training programs.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the department budget.
- Monitor expenditures and optimize resource utilization.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Current RN license in [State].
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience in an emergency department setting.
- Previous leadership or management experience preferred.
- Skills:
