Kim spent over 30 years in hospital administration before making a leap that surprised exactly no one who knows her: jumping headfirst into something totally new. The spark? JSST CEO Amanda Sell-Sande went looking for a new team member and called up her old grad school buddy, Lawrence. He listened to the pitch and said, “Not me—but you really need to talk to my wife.” Smart man.

After meeting the Julison Sell Search Team, Kim didn’t hesitate. Banking was unfamiliar territory, but people weren’t. With a career full of mentoring, training, and building meaningful connections, Kim brought her trademark curiosity and calm confidence to the table. She soaked up everything she could about commercial banking and, in her rookie year, landed among the top new recruiters nationwide. Not bad for someone who used to work in hospitals.

Kim has a special knack for understanding people—what drives them, what lights them up, and what makes them the right fit for the right role. She’s especially interested in banking, finance, and manufacturing, and she’s been diving deep into all three with her usual can-do energy.

At home, Kim and her husband have been renovating and landscaping their house for a decade, and she now casually drops phrases like “poured my own concrete countertops” into conversation like it’s no big deal. Their latest addition is Maggie, a giant, fluffy Bernese Mountain Dog who fits right in with their happily chaotic, ever-growing family, which basically includes anyone who wants to join in on the fun.

Kim’s superpower? Seeing beyond the resume and finding what makes people tick. She loves what she does, and it shows. And yes—Amanda still says hiring Kim instead of her husband was one of her best decisions.

Just don’t ask her what’s for dinner!
